This two-book bundle includes the On Core Mathematics Student Worktext and Teacher Edition. Blackline masters are not included. This curriculum is designed to develop 4th grade math studentsÕ understanding in an interactive format and provides comprehensive coverage of Common Core Standards for math.
The On Core Student Edition Workbook provides two page lessons complete with powerful visual models for each Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. Students actively participate in lessons that use manipulatives and step-by-step models to develop an in-depth understanding through modeling, real world applications, and problem solving. Each 2-page lesson includes opportunities for understanding and practice. Practice focuses on helping students master both Standards for Mathematical Contents and Practice and includes opportunities for real world problem solving. Problem solving is integrated into every lesson as well as in special problem solving lessons. Problem solving lessons help students pull together concepts and skills and apply them to real world situations. The Standards for Mathematical Practice that the student will demonstrate when working toward mastery of a lesson are highlighted in About the Math sections. The Teacher Edition provides lesson background for topics covered in each lesson, includes questioning strategies to prompt discussion, and offers suggestions for differentiating instruction and strategies on how to integrate the Standards for Mathematical Practice into every lesson. The embedded lesson backgrounds for all topics within the Teacher Edition helps teachers implement the Common Core State Standards. At the beginning of each lesson, the content standards and Essential Question that apply to the lesson are listed. Additionally, the prerequisite topics required to understand the content are provided, and background information in the context of the Common Core State Standards is supplied.
